Classification of Air Receivers for Booster Valves
Time: 2026-02-03
Air receivers used with booster valves are classified based on two main criteria: working pressure and material construction.

-
By Working Pressure:
- High-pressure air receivers
- Low-pressure air receivers
- Atmospheric (non-pressurized) tanks
-
By Material:
- Carbon steel air receivers
- Low-alloy steel air receivers
- Stainless steel air receivers
An air receiver (a type of pressure vessel) typically consists of a cylindrical shell, heads (end caps), flanges, nozzles, sealing elements, and support saddles or legs. It is also equipped with safety devices (such as pressure relief valves), instrumentation (like pressure gauges), and internal components designed to meet specific process requirements.
