Founding of China → reform and opening-up (1950s -1970s):
China established the heavy industrial system, focusing on the development of steel, metallurgy, and basic chemicals. Small factories and foreign-invested enterprises flourished in coastal areas, and industries such as electronics, food, and fine chemicals raised requirements for the media purity. Stainless steel (1Cr18Ni9Ti, 304 stainless steel) began to enter China and was first used in the manufacture of storage tanks in high-requirement industries (such as pharmaceuticals, food, and electronics). China began to establish and improve its own pressure vessel standard system, such as the "Steel Pressure Vessels" standard (GB 150 series). These standards gradually aligned with international standards (such as ASME and DIN). 2000s → 2010s

Welding technologies (such as argon arc welding) and internal wall polishing technologies for stainless steel tanks are mature, meeting food-grade (GB 4806 series) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements for pharmaceuticals. Leveraging cost advantages and complete industrial chain, Chinese air tank manufacturers have begun large-scale production of high-quality storage tanks, not only meeting domestic demand but also exporting them in large quantities.
2010s→ present
Internet of Things (IoT) technology is being integrated into storage tanks. Pressure and level sensors, along with RFID tags, enable end-to-end traceability and safety management of the air tanks. To meet the demands of cutting-edge industries such as semiconductors and biopharmaceuticals, internal wall treatment technologies with special coatings (such as nickel-phosphorus plating) have emerged.
