Gas manifold is a common device in industrial fluid systems. It brings together fluids (gas or liquid) from multiple sources to a common outlet, or distributes fluid from one source to multiple branches. The primary purpose is to consolidate or distribute flow rates and, in the process, stabilize pressure and flow.
Main Functions of the gas manifold
1. Flow Collection and Distribution: This is the most basic function. For example, it collects compressed air from multiple air compressors into a single main pipeline; or distributes gas from the main pipeline to multiple workshops.
2. Stabilizing System Pressure: The manifoldtank itself has been had a large volume, and can act as a "buffer tank." When there are slight fluctuations in the inlet flow, the tank can absorb these fluctuations, making the outlet pressure more stable and reducing pressure shocks to downstream equipment.
3. Separating Impurities: Due to the large volume of the manifold, the fluid will decrease instantaneously. Impurities such as liquid water, oil droplets, and solid particles carried in the fluid will partially settle due to gravity and the reduced flow. Therefore, many manifold are designed with drain outlets at the bottom for periodic discharge of condensate and impurities.
4. Monitoring: manifold usually have multiple interfaces such as pressure gauges, pressure switches, safety valves, and thermometers, to monitor and control of the system status.

Gas manifold are widely used in industrial fields requiring the use of compressed gases, steam, or liquids.
Air compressor system: This system collects compressed air from two or more air compressors into a single main pipeline before distributing throughout the factory. The gas manifoldtank is the core component of this system, often referred to as the "air storage tank" or "main air storage tank," but its function is essentially that of a manifold
Boiler steam system: This system collects steam from multiple boilers into a single main steam pipeline.
Laboratory gas pipeline system: This system collects gas from multiple cylinders (such as nitrogen, helium, and argon) into a central pipeline before distributing it to various workbenches in the laboratory.
The manifold is a key component in fluid piping systems. It is not only a cross joint; through its volume, it plays a comprehensive role in collecting source flow, balancing pressure, settling impurities, and monitoring. It ensures the stable, efficient, and safe operation of industrial fluid systems.
